Registration & Fees

  • When and where is Safety 2022?
    Safety 2022 will be held June 27-29, 2022, as a hybrid event. The in-person professional development conference and exposition will be presented at McCormick Place (West) in Chicago, and our virtual conference and exposition will be delivered online through our education event platform.
  • How much is registration and what does it include?

    The early rate for ASSP members to attend in-person in Chicago is $559; $759 for nonmembers. For the online-only event, the member rate is $259; $359 for nonmembers. Please review all rates and registration deadlines on our registration page.

    In-person attendees will be able to select from more than 130 concurrent sessions, while online-only attendees will have more than 60 sessions to choose from. In-person attendees will earn 1.4 continuing education units (CEUs) and have access to all the sessions recorded for the online event, which makes available another 6.0 CEUs, for a total of 7.4 CEUs.

    Virtual-only registrants can earn up to 6.4 CEUs. In our event platform, you’ll be able to watch sessions as they premiere, and chat live with the speaker and other attendees.

    In-person attendees will also receive a lunch voucher valued at $75 that can be used at various food stations throughout the expo hall.

  • Will the events follow the same schedule (days and times)? Will the content be the same for both the online and the in-person program?
    The in-person and online components will be delivered over the same dates, Monday, June 27-Wednesday, June 29. Each program will follow a unique schedule and, while there will be a few shared components, including livestreamed general and plenary sessions and networking events, each program will deliver unique concurrent educational sessions tailored to the needs of in-person and online attendees.   • Will there be an early bird date?
    Yes, super early rates are available through April 21. Visit our registration page to see all registration fees.
  • Will there be expo-only passes?
    Yes. You will be able to purchase expo-only passes in advance of the event. The $249 fee provides three-day access to the expo, but no entry to education sessions.
  • I registered for the virtual conference, but I’ve changed my mind and want to attend in Chicago. What should I do?
    If you would like to change your registration to in person, please email ASSP Customer Service at or call +1 (847) 699.2929. As an in-person attendee, you will also receive on-demand access to the sessions delivered during the online portion for 60 days after the event. Please note, by changing your registration and attending the in-person event, you voluntarily accept all risks related to exposure from communicable disease and agree to not hold ASSP or its representatives liable for any illness or injury. You also agree to follow all safety and health protocols issued by ASSP.
  • I registered for the in-person event but think I’m going to stay home and attend online. What should I do?
    If you would like to change your registration to online only, please email ASSP Customer Service at or call +1 (847) 699.2929. By registering for the online-only conference option, you will not have access to the in-person event in Chicago, other than select general and plenary sessions that will be livestreamed via the event platform.
  • How will I get my badge?
    Prior to the conference, we will email your badge barcode to the address you provided when you registered. In Chicago, registration kiosks will be available for you to scan your barcode and print your badge. To pick up your badge, you must provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours prior to badge pick up. Please note: By registering and attending this event, you voluntarily accept all risks related to exposure from communicable disease and agree to not hold ASSP or its representatives liable for any illness or injury. You also agree to follow all safety and health protocols issued by ASSP.
  • How soon after the conference will my transcript be updated/available?
    Your transcript reflecting the CEUs earned during the conference should be available in your My ASSP account within 7 to 10 business days. The same is true for CEUs you earn upon completion of on-demand sessions during the 60-day access period following the conference.
  • Will there be an exposition at Safety 2022?
    Yes! Exhibitors are excited to see members and showcase their latest product innovations and best-in-class services. There will also be expo-only time built into the event schedule so you are better able to visit booths and connect with exhibitors. Our goal is to provide you with an exceptional opportunity to safely interact with exhibitors and identify solutions to your organization’s safety challenges.
  • What is the cancellation policy?

    Need to substitute one person for another? Please submit substitutions by June 20, 2022, to If pricing has changed, you will be charged or refunded the difference. After June 20, 2022, a $50 substitution fee will apply.

    ASSP will grant full refunds to cancellation requests received by June 14, 2022, via email to We will assess the following fees to cancellations received via email between June 15 and June20, 2022: Conference $200; Pre-conference courses $150/course. Cancellations requested after June 20, 2022, will forfeit refunds in their entirety.

  • What safety and health protocols will be in place to protect people who attend in person?
    The Safety 2022 safety plan includes a range of protective measures designed to safeguard the health and safety of all conference attendees, exhibitors and ASSP staff. All individuals who attend the in-person conference in Chicago will be required to follow established safety and health protocols. Please note that attending an in-person event presents an inherent risk of exposure to communicable disease. By attending this event, you voluntarily accept all risks related to exposure from communicable disease and agree to not hold ASSP or its representatives liable for any illness or injury. Travel & Lodging FAQs

  • How do I make my hotel reservations?

    We are partnering with onPeak to secure discounted rates at a selection of Chicago hotels. onPeak is our only hotel provider and we encourage you to book through them for the best selection and price. To make your reservations, please visit the Accommodations page.

    Please note that no other third-party companies offering hotel assistance are endorsed by ASSP. Entering into financial agreements with these companies can have costly consequences and are not protected by event management.

  • Do you have any safety guidance for travelers?
    We encourage you to review CDC’s guidance on domestic travel. CDC's guidance addresses vaccinations, face coverings, physical distancing and testing. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or do not feel well, please do not travel.
  • Can international attendees come to the in-person conference?
    International attendees are welcome to attend Safety 2022 in Chicago. All international travelers must meet the COVID-19 requirements established by the Centers for Disease Control for all air passengers arriving in the U.S. You can also check the U.S. Department of State and Transportation Safety Administration websites for further information.

  • How do I access the online event platform?
    The Safety 2022 online event platform can be accessed at, be sure to bookmark that URL for easy access. But before you can access the platform, you will need to look out for an invite email which will be sent on Thursday, June 23. Once you receive the invite email, you will need to click on the link to activate your account and create a password.
  • Why can I not log into the platform?

    Make sure you received the event invite email and clicked the link to activate your account and create a password. If you have done that but are still unable to login, use the Forgot Password feature on the login page.

    If you are still having issues:

    • Verify that your device and browser meets the device requirements and browser settings mentioned on the System Requirements page.
    • Disconnect from any VPN that you may be connected to.
    • If you are trying to access the event platform while at work, either try to login from a different network (e.g. a Wi-Fi Hotspot or a network outside of work) or you can contact your IT Department to have them add the following domains to their firewall's exception list:

  • How do I earn CEUs?

    To earn CEUs for a session, you need to watch the video until the speaker(s) have finished their presentation. Once you start watching a session, do not leave the page. If needed, you can pause and restart the video. If you leave the session page or close out the window, you must start the video from the beginning when you go back into the session in order to receive the CEUs.

    In order to ensure that you will receive any CEUs, you should verify that your device and browser meets the device requirements and browser settings mentioned on the System Requirements page.

  • How do I track which sessions I’ve viewed?

    The best way to keep track of the sessions you have viewed is to do the following:

    1. Click the Add to Schedule button next to each of the online concurrent sessions you wish to watch and earn CEUs for.
    2. As you complete a session, go to the Evaluations page and click the Evaluate Now button next to the session you just completed and submit an evaluation.
      Note: The option to evaluate a session will appear within 15 minutes of the scheduled end time for each session.

    After an evaluation is submitted for a session, it will no longer be listed on the Evaluations page. By following these steps, you will be able to track all the sessions that you have yet to watch by seeing them listed on the Evaluations page. Sessions that you have added to your schedule which are not listed on the Evaluations page can be considered watched. You will receive the CEUs for those sessions as long as you have followed the steps above, watched the session until the speaker has completed their presentation, and have verified your device and browser meets the device requirements and browser settings mentioned on the System Requirements page.

  • Why won’t the sessions play?

    Session videos will only display after the scheduled start time of the session.

    If the scheduled start time has passed, verify that your device and browser meets the device requirements and browser settings mentioned on the System Requirements page.

  • Will the transcript include the date the session was accessed?

    Yes, the CEU credit date on your transcript will be the date the session was accessed.

  • How soon after the conference will my transcript be updated/available?

    Your transcript reflecting the CEUs earned during the conference are typically available under My Account on within 10 business days. The same is generally true for CEUs you earn because of completing online sessions during the 60-day access period following the conference.

  • I am unable to print my transcript.

    Try the following:

    • Use a personal computer
    • Try from your home network
    • Use Chrome or Safari as your browser
    • Do not use VPN
    • If this does not work then you can ask your IT department to create a rule to open up a port on the firewall otherwise known as whitelisting this address, If you need to be able to print this from your work computer.
  • How many CEUs will I earn by attending?

    You receive .1 credit for each full session you attend. One session = .1 CEUs. To receive the full 6.4 CEUs/recertification points, you will need to attend/complete all 60 concurrent sessions and the four live-streamed general/plenary sessions. You will have access to all online concurrent session recordings for 60 days after the event and will continue to accrue CEUs as you complete them during that time. You will need to watch the general/plenary sessions as they are live-streamed to receive CEUs for those sessions.

  • Can I ask questions during the online educational sessions?

    We encourage you to ask the speaker questions live during each session via the Live Chat.

  • If I miss an online session, will session recordings be available?

    This is a great benefit of a virtual event. Your Safety 2022 registration includes access to recordings of all online concurrent sessions for 60 days after the event. So, you can watch sessions you missed or rewatch sessions you attended to review what you have learned.

  • Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?

    Each paid registration for Safety 2022 permits only one user to enter the virtual conference. Continuing education units earned, questions asked and polling conducted during each session are tied to the account of the individual who registered for the event.

  • Do I have to attend the entire event?

    Virtual events bring the experience of an in-person conference to your personal computer. So just like at an in-person conference, you can select the sessions you attend. We encourage you to attend the entire event — including general sessions, concurrent sessions and virtual networking chats — to get the most out of the experience.

  • Can my computer or device handle the online platform for Safety 2022?

    The virtual conference will work on most up-to-date laptops, desktops and handheld devices. Please verify that your device meets the system requirements and browser settings mentioned on the System Requirements page.

  • Do I need to have a webcam for the event?

    A webcam is not required to attend via the online platform for Safety 2022.

  • How can I change my password?

    You can do that by using the Forgot Password feature on the login screen of

  • Will I be able to see the presenters for each session?

    Our general sessions will stream full video showing the presenter and other visual elements.

    For the concurrent sessions, we will stream a combination of the presenter via webcam accompanied by PowerPoint and other visual elements shared by the presenter. Our speakers will be available live online for Q&A during each of their session broadcasts.

    We value your trust, we appreciate your involvement and leadership in ASSP, and we thank you for your engagement and support as we look ahead to Safety 2022 in Chicago and online. Below is more information about programs and responsibilities for ASSP leaders at Safety 2022.

    ASSP Leaders and Honorees Celebration

    This invitation only event will welcome ASSP volunteer leaders, past presidents and Fellows, and 2022 award recipients for the first ever ASSP Leader and Awards reception.

    Can I bring a guest?

    Due to limited capacity in the venue, this invitation does not include guests. We will make a few exceptions for the 2022 Fellows, Safety Professional of the Year and Outstanding Educator of the Year.

    Additional guests may be accommodated, on request, depending on event registration numbers. We are grateful for the support leaders and honorees have received from family and loved ones. Our goal is to accommodate as many guests as the space allows once we’re sure of the number of ASSP leaders who will be able to attend.     I received an invite but I’m not able to attend. Can I give my invite to someone else?

    Invitations for this event are not transferable.

    What’s the attire for the event?

    We ask that attendees to wear business casual attire. Our goal is to provide attendees a great opportunity to meet and network with other ASSP leaders and contributors in a comfortable setting.

    How will this year’s recipients be recognized?

    We are working to finalize all the details, but we will provide recognition in various ways. For example, there will be special signage and a celebratory video playing on screens in the venue. After the reception, the signage display will be moved to a centralized location accessible to all Safety 2022 attendees. The video will also be posted on the ASSP website.

    Volunteer Registration and Travel

    Volunteer leaders who hold the following positions will receive a non-transferable registration code for a complimentary registration to the in-person and virtual Safety 2022:

    Under our current operating budget, we are reimbursing travel expenses for only a limited number of volunteer leaders who attend Safety 2022 in Chicago. For example, we plan to cover travel expenses for members of the Board of Directors, who will have official on-site roles during the conference. ASSP staff members will be on site to fulfill key roles.

    No ASSP business meetings (including board, committee and council meetings) will be held at Safety 2022.

    Community Receptions

    We will not host community receptions as part of the in-person conference. However, member communities may host virtual receptions and/or in-person informal gatherings. We will post information on these activities on the Safety 2022 networking page as details are finalized.

    In addition, all attendees are invited to attend the Monday night Summer in the City event, which will be a ticketed event held outdoors on the McCormick Place campus.

    Informal Gatherings

    We understand that many of our members and groups of members from our various communities are excited to reconnect with colleagues while in Chicago. If you elect to self-organize as individual members, please use your best judgment and review the latest CDC guidelines.

    Leader Responsibilities

    ASSP leaders are responsible for upholding the ASSP Code of Conduct and are accountable to all event rules and regulations.
